North Marston Methods Practice
Following an amazing turnout of around 25 ringers on Tuesday 19th August (last practice) it was decided that for the moment the practices would be focused from Plain Hunt continuing right up to touches of Plain Bob (as long as we keep getting good turnouts like the last)
The practice will possibly have to be moved to another during January/ February (2009) time when some nescessary maintenance work needs to be carried out on the bells. Suggestions for towers that would be ideal were: Great Horwood, Whitchurch, Drayton Parslow, East Claydon. If we have to move the practice for a little while it is going to be at a ground floor ring so that the church can provide enough space for all.
Ed, the ringing master, has said that although some had a little difficulty ringing the bells, it was good practice ringing at the long draft bell tower and that after the maintenance work has been completed in Jan/ Feb 2009 time the bells will be a lot easier to ring. Also, if we keep having Practices, regular service ringing, quarter peals, not only is it good for locals to let them know that we are here and practising, it is good for the ropes (bought in 2003) which need to be stretched out so they are not "Springy"
Here is a video of some of the Plain Hunting:
